The Sealyham KC 100 year centenary. We go to Pembrokeshire, Wales for a wonderful weekend celebrating the origin of the Sealyham, at Sealyham Mansion, the home of Captain Price who bred the dogs originally. April 13th 2008
We had a great weekend, taking Ralph and Ruby to the Sealyham show in Sealyham, Pembrokeshire. There were lots of dogs on show - and there was a hunt! Ralph and Ruby were invited along and performed brilliantly. They are now a officially 'Working Dogs'. The show itself was fabulous with the dogs on show groomed to perfection. It's amazing how much time and effort goes into making each dog look their best. Ralph particularly wanted to see Patrick (godson) and David (grand-dad), but they couldn't make it this time. Maybe next time!!!!

Below are pictures of the event. I hope you like them!

More images: The first one is quite an unusual cut for a Sealyhm. More of a Schnoutzer (sic). But I should talk, they way I cut Ralph and Ruby. I went a bit mad on their beards!

And so to the hunt. The BIG dogs are 'Mink Hounds', formally known as 'Otter Hounds'. They are ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!

People gathered to see the huntmen take off to the river by the Estate. It was a very impressive sight....

Well that's it folks. What a great day. The pictures speak for themselves. If anyone wants a picture at maximum resolution, please let me know. Special thanks to Janet Wanacott who organised this and did a great job. Also to Harry Parson and his friends, especially Gail, Steve and Mark who made us feel very welcome. We certainly saw two wonderful sides to the Sealyham, as a working dog and as a beautifully groomed pedigree. Please leave a comment in the guestbook as it is great to see who has looked at this.

All the best, Frank and Alison.
